The Damage Caused by Plastics to Nature
Although plastic is a material that we use frequently in almost
every aspect of our daily life, it is also the raw material of
disposable bags, straws, and pet bottles. Although it seems to have
advantages, the benefits of plastic, besides its harms,
unfortunately, remain like a grain of sand on the beach. Since
millions of tons of plastic produced in a year generally cover
single-use products, most of the plastic produced falls into the
garbage category.
So where do you think the garbage created by these plastic wastes
goes? Since we know that plastics are not recyclable and do not
dissolve in the soil, we do not have to look far for the answer.
Take a look around. Look at our parks, forests, seas, and lakes.
Plastic waste has taken over our entire world. It has taken over our
lives as well as our world. Greenhouse gases caused by plastics are
in the air we breathe, "microplastics" mixed with the soil, and in
the food we eat, in short, plastics have entered our cells.
Plastic Causes Emissions of Greenhouse Gases!
The biggest harm that plastic causes to our nature are that it causes global warming and climate change. Plastics, which are petroleum-based and produced from a material called polyethylene, cause the release of greenhouse gases when they come into contact with heat, but they also emit toxic gas. These toxic gases mix with the air we breathe and leave carcinogenic effects on all living things.
As for what kind of dangerous greenhouse gases cause… Our world
warms up with the reflection of the rays coming from the Sun.
However, greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane, caused
by plastic, trap the heat that needs to be reflected into space and
cause our Earth to heat up more than necessary. This situation
causes the temperature of the air and seas to rise, and therefore
the balance of the ecosystem is disturbed. It endangers the life of
all living things.
All living things on earth need clean air and a suitable temperature
to sustain their lives. However, factors such as increasing
temperatures, drought, and thirst due to global warming caused by
plastic put the lives of living things in great danger and put some
species in danger of extinction. Along with the deteriorating
natural balance, our soil structure is deteriorating day by day and
our forests are drifting toward an inextricable disaster. It is
clear that even the slightest changes in the structure of the fruits
and vegetables we consume can cause enormous health problems in our
bodies, and that the disruption of the balance of nature will
directly affect human life.
Nature and man are two inseparable elements. Any problem that may
occur in one will greatly affect the other. For this reason, if we
want to leave a beautiful future to the next generations, the only
way is to leave beautiful nature. Let's heal our frayed relationship
with nature together as the nEGOWOOD family.
Throw your waste and rubbish into the relevant recycling and trash
bins. Be assured that the accumulated anger of this nature, which
you ignored yesterday, will come back to us tomorrow, exceeding all
our intelligence, technology, and science. Are you brave enough to
do this? We are not."
